It matters to us that we honor the grape growers and wine makers in their
ultimate goal by ensuring your enjoyment of the bouquet and taste of their
"Bottled Poetry".Our Winekeeper stores all the premium wines by the glass in
temperature controlled chambers, whites are served appx. 45 degrees and
reds are served appx. 60 degrees (cellar temp.). The Winekeeper also displaces
the oxygen in an opened bottle by pumping in nitrogen. Oxygen reacts with
wine causing it to deteriorate, while nitrogen maintains the wines' integrity
and designed characteristics.

Finally we serve all our wine in fine thin rimmed oversized stemware. The thin
rim enhances your tongues intimate exchange with the wine. The oversize
chamber allows the wine's bouquet to come into full bloom.

Named after the dynamiting that was necessary to carve out the vineyard on a rocky slope of Mt. Veeder. Warm weather in late September led to luch ripe cherry flavors and a full rounded finish. Easy to drink youthful wine.

Ripe and grapey, with lots of spicy plum, currant, and cherry flavors that are upfront and supple. Finishes with intriguing spicy notes and firm but polished tannins. (88 points in W.S.) Markham is one of the great Merlot makers and we traveled to the winery to get permission to pour it by the glass because of the limited quantities. Perfect with lamb, pasta, or meatloaf.

Dense rich and complex. Layers of currant, mineral, plum, cherry and toasty oak. Long flavorful finish. The 96' vintage of this is the #1 rated wine of all 96 wines. (Beating out Opus) This vintage scored 91 points in Wine Spectator and is now getting enormous attention. We can't get any 96' because it disappeared as soon as it got the #1 rating.

Grapes are from the source usually saved for their celebrated ìspecial selectionî, but Caymus did not make a 96 special selection. This wine is drinking extremely nice. Wine Spectator gave it 90 points. Creamy, toasty oak up-front with supple currant and black cherry folding in beneath. Big and complex on the finish.

Toasty clove, currant, black cherry and spice. (96 points in Wine Spectator) This vintage was considered the #2 overall wine for 96' vintages.

Lot #24 is the annual release of a blend. This is considered by some as a ìfruit bombî. Its intense berry flavor makes it stand up to spicy foods, or as a refreshing sipper. Great value for a unique well made wine.

91 points in Wine Spectator. Aged for 18 months in seasoned French Oak. A tight and firm Syrah with a rich and focused core of plum, black cherry, earth, anise and wild berry flavors ending in a long, intricate aftertaste. Very limited quantities.

Steve Edmunds is one of Robert Parker's favorite wine makers. This is a small California vineyard with limited production, and the Durell Syrah is big with balance of complex flavors. Hints of earth and smoke. Good with any full flavored meals. Known as "ESJ" by it's cult like following.
